About the Artist

Ramon Ramirez is a Los Angeles-based artist with a background in architecture. He received his B.A., M.A. + M.Arch. degrees from the University of California at Berkeley.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, the city has served as his muse from the onset. He is one of the featured artists in the book Contemporary Chicana/Chicano Artists. Along with galleries throughout the country, institutions that have exhibited his works include Boise State University, the Carnegie Art Museum, the Fowler Museum at UCLA, the Mesa Southwest Museum in Arizona, Ohio State University, the Snite Museum at the University of Notre Dame, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Woodbury University.

The Bilingual Press at Arizona State University, the Business Journal of Hispanic Research, New York University Press and recently the University of California at Los Angeles have published his paintings in magazines and books. Ramon continues to be an active painter in Southern California where he also teaches architectural drawing and design.

Ramon is represented by Wallspace Gallery in Los Angeles.
